Moto XXX Round 1 Race Report: Anaheim CA

Fans and industry alike were greeted with cool and sunny weather this past Saturday for the opening round of the AMA Supercross series in Anaheim, California. The weekend started off especially well for team Moto XXX with the addition of two big name sponsors: Moose Racing and Scorpion Helmets. Team riders Josh Summey and Kyle Lewis both say the new gear and helmets are some of the most comfortable they&squot;re ever worn. The team, riders, and sponsors are all looking forward to a very successful year aboard team Moto XXX. Now onto the racing!

Kyle Lewis started off the night in the first heat race battling a mid-pack start and some tough competition. After a "Lucky" save in the whoops and riding through some intense pain after a crash in Canada, Lewis crossed the line in 10th missing the main by one.

Josh Summey opened the second heat with a good start and proceeded to quickly weave his way into second place behind James Stewart. After an amazing first lap an untimely mistake saw Summey on the ground and forced into the LCQ with his teammate.

The LCQ saw Lewis leading the third lap before ultimately coming together with another riding and finishing back in fourth. Summey didn&squot;t fare any better as he also tangled with another rider resulting in an early exit for team Moto XXX.

Even though the night didn&squot;t go according to plan, the team remains optimistic. Team manager, Allan Brown comments, "The season is just beginning and there is still a lot of racing left. We are one of the top privateer teams in the sport and we plan to keep it that way with many strong finishes in the races to come." With that being said, the riders and the rest of the team can&squot;t wait for the gate to drop and the action to begin this coming weekend in Phoenix, Arizona. See you there!
