CALIFORNIA&squot;S NEWEST INDOOR PUBLIC KART TRACK ALL-NEW POLE POSITION RACEWAY TO OPEN IN CORONA
- press release -
Indoor kart racing is quickly becoming one of the fastest-growing forms of recreation in the United States. That&squot;s what has prompted several key people from the motorcycle industry to create Pole Position Raceway in Southern California. The public kart track will be located in Corona which is consider to be the world&squot;s epicenter of off-road motorcycle racing. Nowhere else on the planet is there such a concentrated group of aftermarket companies, performance shops, factory test tracks, and key race-related companies. In fact, half of the top AMA Supercross and Motocross racers call this area home during the winter testing time.
Pole Position Raceway will be located near the 15/91 junction inside a state-of-the-art entertainment facility on 2.8 acres. It will also include all sorts of racing memorabilia such as historic bikes, race cars, riding gear and more.
"There won&squot;t be any place like this in the world for motorcycle fans," said Ken Faught, President of P2R. "This is a track for racers by racers, and anyone can join in on the action. We have 55 brand new electric karts that have twice the horsepower of the karts found at most facilities around the country. These are certainly not the karts you remember driving as a kid. They accelerate harder, are more evenly matched, and provided the closest racing found anywhere in the state."
n"One of the coolest features is our ProScore electronic scoring which allows you to measure your skills against everyone who has ever driven at Pole Position Raceway," said Jason Williams, CEO of the multi-million-dollar complex. "You will be able to check your speed against seven-time AMA Supercross Jeremy McGrath, freestyle legend Mike Metzger, land speed record holder Jason McVicar, and some of the world&squot;s fastest motorcycle and car racers."
The team who created Pole Position Raceway and it&squot;s 1/4-mile-long European-style road course also includes Jeremy McGrath (All-time AMA Supercross Champ), Greg Albertyn (3-time World MX Champion), Dick Burleson (8-time ISDE Gold Medalist), Kerry Peterson (5-time World Hillclimb Champ), Mike Metzger (X-Games Gold Medalist), Steve Hatch (National Enduro Champ), Trevor Vines (X-Games freestyle rider), Brent Harden (future off-road star), Jeff Fox (President and CEO of Parts Unlimited), Eric Phipps (owner of Works Connection), Paul Thede (founder of Race Tech), Dr., John Edwards (KTM Paris-to-Dakar rally team physician), Erich Broesel (industry-leading designer), Mitch Politi (owner of Sand Obsession calendars), Bob Weber (Vice President of Troy Lee Designs), and several other well-respected motorsport enthusiasts.
The facility is expected to open this September and will host dozens of key industry functions every year. Pole Position Raceway also offers a conference room with state-of-the-art audio/video equipment for company meetings, private parties and other social events. There&squot;s also a large gaming area filled with video games, air hockey, pool tables and more.
