L.A. SLEEVE introduces the 2006 YZ250F to 272cc big bore kit.
This big bore kit is another in the L.A. SLEEVE big bore family. The big bore kit developed with input from the "Doctor", Doug Dubach, provides the rider with a powerful and smooth powerband throughout the YZ&squot;s power curve.
The four-stroke YZ250F benefits from the "no replacement for displacement" extra bore and cubic centimeter the 272 provides.
The stock cylinder requires added strength to handle the 3.00mm larger piston. We line the cylinder with a promalloy liner to prevent the aluminum bore from distorting. A round and true bore is critical for ring seal in order to prevent fuel from blowing by the piston from the combustion chamber. Using a strong hi-tensile liner provides the strength the 272 big bore craves. A forged 13:1 compression lightweight piston kit is used to power the engine.
In order to utilize the broadness of the powerband we asked Webcam to build us a cam to handle the added displacement horsepower, while maintaining the curve of the YZ250F. Webcam provided us with a cam that can be degreed into the RPM range of the riders&squot; preference. They also hardwelded the cam before grinding the profile for extended durability.
Next, we asked Dubach Racing to match a "Dr. D" exhaust system to the YZ272F. The result is a YZ272F with more bottom end torque, and greater overall horsepower within the YZ powerband.
